Back To Work

Well, had a pretty fun Memorial Day weekend. It was nice to have Lee Lee off work Monday, although we didn't do much of anything at all.

So Friday, gotta try and remember what went on, geesh my memory is bad. Okay, I'm having a total blank. Anyway, Sat we got up and decided to go to Lacon (flea market) and check it out, we hadn't been in awhile. And I'm so glad we did! We found some SUPER good deals. This little mexican woman was selling this 3 tier metal rack thing, its about 3.5ft tall, that you can put plants on, books, whatever, for 5$! Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet. Lee likes it on the porch, but I want to decorate the house not the PORCH. Anyway, we also found an old coleman camping stove for SIX BUCKS! Then I found a decorator table, you know those ones that are just wood with 3 legs and you put a table cloth over them? I needed another one for the bedroom but didn't want to spend the money on it, lol, and found that for 4$! Thennn I found a fold up lounge chair for tanning for ONE DOLLAR, yessss. It looks brand new but dirty. Very excited, been wanting one of those for like 2 years, lol, no more laying on the ground with the bugs/ants! HALLELUJAH! I think that was it, we had a lot of fun. I also saw this little kitten I wanted so bad. It was SO CUTE!!! I know better then to go over by the animals but I heard their little high pitched meows and I couldn't resist!! This little light cream one was adorable, I stuck my finger in there and it just rubbed and rubbed on it, then licked it!! So CUTE!! It was so sweet and friendly. But alas, Lee said NO, and I knew better anyway...sniff.

So after that we headed back to town, I told Lee I wanted to go to hobby lobby and buy a picture that was 50% off this week, that I didn't have money for earlier. It is SO PRETTY. I'll have to take a pic. Its like wood that looks like something off a barn, kinda has slats, and its painted white, with hydrangeas on it and Live Well Laugh Often Love Much. So pretty, and in the middle it has a spot for a 5x7.

GOOD GRIEF!! The durn UPS man is here at 10 oclock!! Oh great, and he is getting out the dolly. That means I'm going to be stuck with a bunch of work. Okay, maybe not too much, he just put 2 boxes, one is big, they have luggage in them. Yeah, not much at all.

Okay, trying to beep Lee (on the nextel) to tell him about Bowser. He was acting REALLY strange this morning. He was limping??? And then after he came in from going potty I touched his head and he YELPED. This dog NEVER yelps, even when I beat the crap out of him for something. I did it a few more times and he yelped, but theres nothing there! I have no idea whats wrong with him. He was cowering around acting scared, etc. So strange. Dumb dog, I swear if its not one thing its another with him!! I'll prolly have the bro in law check on him a little later...

Okay, Lee has no clue...and its raining at his job, great. He's worried they wont get 40 hours in this week becaue its supposed to rain like EVERY BLOODY DAY and he already didn't work monday, I highly doubt his boss will pay them for it. He sucks. They only have a little bit of inside work...GO AWAY STUPID RAIN!

Okay, so on Sat I got my picture and then we called Chris and Jamie to see what they were doing, Lee thought he might have picked up a Land Rover Jamies dad was giving them. Its to play in the woods/trails with. So finally got a hold of him, no he hadnt, but wanted to know if we would go get it with him cause our truck is bigger then his and it has to be hauled (needs a water pump). So by that time Lee and I had already gotten all the way home. So we unloaded our loot and went to the inlaws real quick to help with a four wheeler problem (what would they do without Lee?? lol) and get some chains to hold the rover on the trailer with and then Lee got stuck helping his mom with something too. His dad did get our new stove working tho, so that is good.

Then we went over to a church friend who has a good car trailer, picked that up (saw some SUPER cute baby goats) and then picked up chris at his house. Got to his inlaws, FINALLY got the rover running long enough to get it on the trailer, and headed went to a car wash to clean it up. I mostly slept in the truck, I was so sleepy and headachey that day. Although I did watch a horse in the pasture near there for quite a while. He was upset his buddy was gone and was trotting around and calling a lot. Got back to their house and got the rover unloaded (jamie was at a bd party) and they messed with it for quite awhile. I slept some more, lol.

So finally Jamie got home and we decided to go out and eat. She and I wanted Olive Garden, of course the boys vetoed that, so we finally settled on Carrabas, since my mom and dad and a few other pepole have been telling us how GREAT it is. Lee, total homebody, didn't see why we had to go all the way to huntsville to eat (hour away) since we have plenty of places here. I was like yeah, and we eat at them ALL THE TIME. I like to try new stuff. Anyway, we had to take the trailer back, so we did that and met up later. They have a really nice '03 chevy avalance that we ride in everywhere, hehe.

So got up there (its in a mall) and got our little buzzer thing and walked around the mall a bit. Jamie wanted to go into forever 21 (never been in one) so we ditched the guys and had A LOT of fun looking in there. They have GREAT prices, and such cute stuff!! Then we walked out and Lee had found a buddy of his and was talking to him, and Jamie happened to know the buddies sis in law, so she talked to her, lol. Lees buddy had a little 4 month old boy, cute cute, and he was like, so, about time for yall to have one, right?? We both went EHHHH...and looked aside, hahaha.

So our thingie went off so we went and got our table. And about gagged at the prices. UGH! So I got a chicken pasta thing with mushrooms and peas and it was REALLY GOOD. REALLY good. Jamie liked hers all right, the boys were NOT IMPRESSED, lol. So there went 35$ bucks! But it was still fun. Our waiter was kinda ugh tho, he thought he was funny, but wasn't, and you could tell he had the same speel for EVERYONE. He did get us a free desert though since it was our first time :).

So we drove back to our town and got dropped off, then went on home. Church the next day, then small group, then we decided to drive around the lake a bit, to see if our old ramps were still there for the sea doo. They were, also found some other ones. And got caught in torrential rain and loud thunder storms. Lee was going to show me a huge house he built on the lake but I wouldn't let him go down the driveway it was STEEP and its someones house! He got kinda ill with me, and then I got ill with him for being ill with me, and well, not good, lol. So we went on home, and did a buncha nothing, then I made some fish sticks and fries and we watched tv, and then to bed.

Yesterday I was hoping someone was going to call and say hey, we're having a memorial day thing, come bring some food and party with us! Well, no one did. Oh well. My dad is sick and so I kinda figured we wouldn't do anything. So we went over to lees parents and hung around there all day. It was okay. She fixed us biscuits and gravy (which we didnt eat till 1:30!! They are so late with everything) and then we sat around and talked, oh and lees younger brothers went to the store and got stuff to make bombs with. -_- Something with toilet cleaner shaken up in a bottle?? They were kinda scary, lol.

I also went out and to feed the new mare with Jesse. I grabbed Tuff while I was out there and brushed his mane and tail out, got some more of his shedding hair off. Then messed with his feet some. I remembered they had lunged Skip the other day so I got the lunge line out to see if he remembered his lessons from last year. He did, and was a good boy. We mostly walked but did a little slow trot. It was sloppy out there. And SUPER humid, with the gnats driving you bonkers!!

Then we decided to do a cook out, so lees dad and us went and got some ribs and other things and he grilled those and I fixed these appetizers I've been wanting to try, and it was all REALLY good. I loved the appetizers, these are them: Won Ton Appetizer. They are UNBELIEVABLE! And so easy. Everyone seemed to really like them. Your supposed to use won ton wraps but our little hick stores don't have those, so I used some premade bowls from the freezer section. Worked great.

So then we watched Australia, well most of it, at 11 we decided to head home, since they had like 40 more mins, lol. That movie is forever long. Its good though.

Okay, so now we are on Tuesday, yeah, I like having another day that feels like the weekend, cause that gets the NEXT weekend there much earlier!

Okay, shutting up now, gosh I'm boring!!

I leave you with a simply adorable picture of my nephew Dawson in dads '66 GTO from the grand opening last sat.

Friday!

I'm SO glad its Friday, I'm pretty sick of being at work all day. Yeah for weekends!! And Lee is going to be off on Monday for Memorial Day, so I'm pretty happy about that. :)

I doubt we will do anything special though, its supposed to be cloudy/rainy from now all through next week. YEAH. -_-' But maybe we will b-que at the inlaws or my mom and dads or something. I would love to take the sea doo out, but the weather, and I'm not sure if the water is warm enough yet. We haven't had that many hot days lately. I also need to get it tagged and reg still. I found out for Lee to get his license he has to send in his information and a 5$ check in the MAIL. So SLOW! So we really need to find that thing! I mean, it has to be in the house SOMEWHERE. I just have no idea where. I've looked everywhere it even remotely should be.

So not much went on yesterday. I had to work 12-6 (which I didn't get home till nearly 7) and make dinner right after I got home, and then it was bed time soon after that. Oh yeah, customers...brb.

Anyway, I had SO MUCH fun with my horse Wendesday, we jumped our first itty bitty jump, lol. Go read my other blog if you want an in depth description.

Well the boss is here and I'm leaving in 30 mins, so I'm gonna shut up. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Money, Money... Why Dont I Have More of You??

So I'm totally not happy right now. Money. We never have enough of it. We are SO STUPID with our money, it really is epic. I mean seriously, we are not STUPID in of ourselves, but when we get to money, oh yeah. Its sad. I mean, we are both spenders, and thats not good. One of us should be a saver!!! Thats why we get ourselves in these messes. That and depending on the internet and not balancing our checkbooks. Stupid. Yet we never seem to learn. :sigh:

To top it off, our $300 in state refund, which was put in the savings, is now ALL GONE. GONE. To pay for our mess. Well part of it went to that. :sniff: So now we have to build it up from the ground. The hard way. And it probably won't get done. We SUCK at saving. :sigh: Well at least I can probably get my check today and deposit it, so MAYBE we won't overdraw AGAIN. I'm glad Lee has a bit of overtime this week. Hopefully he can get more. He also has a side job that is needing done. But who knows when he'll get it done/get paid for it. He has to work on top of a building that is RIGHT by power lines, so it can't be windy. And its been windy THREE DAYS IN A ROW. Unbelievable.

You know what, I can probably trace this all back to one thing. That started it all. I didn't tithe this week. I knew we would be short on money and didn't have it, we just didn't have it. But your supposed to trust God and do it anyway, and He will bless you with the money you need. But I didn't. And I have felt bad/worried about it all week. And here we go, the fruit of my stupidity. GOOD JOB BRITNIE. :sighhhh:

So anway, enough of that, I'm getting more depressed. Not much has been going on. We really do lead quite boring lives. And sigh again, its only 1:30!!! At least I get off at three today though. And then a mad rush to the bank.

Umm, dad had his grand opening for his new garage this Sat. (hes a Chevrolet mechanic)

It went okay, not many people came out. Apparently the strawberry festival was going on along with another car show (dad said on his flyers and ads that his grand opening was also a car show/cruise in for muscle cars etc) and it was also threatening to rain, so muscle car owners do NOT want to bring cars out if its going to rain, generally, lol. But we had a few cars there and we did have a good bit of people come, so it was okay.

Lee and I drove my bros super charged mustang convertible there, since they were out of town this weekend. That was fun, love that car. I want a convertible! hehe, I have t-tops on my camaro but it is a lot of work to put them on and off. Not just unsnap a few things and push a button! Plus the hydraulics on my back window, that hold it up, are broke, so that mother is HEAVY, and I have to use a pole to keep it open and I'm always worried its going to fall and break my back, lol. (that is where I store the t-tops when I take them off)

I got a new phone! Well new to me. Its actually Lee's, his boss gave him one of his phones he hardly used, thats military grade. So I got his, this is it: Motorola i880

Its not great, but much better then the one I have. I wish Nextel would get with it and have CUTE, cool phones with the direct connect, not boring ones. I loved my cingular Samsung phone, so neat. Oh well, at least this one has a music player on it. Although I don't know where the memory card adapter went, so I can't load more on it, lol. Great.

So we went over to the in laws last night, his mom made chicken fingers and fries, then we watched Mall Cop. SO STUPID. I knew it would be. Oh well. It was nice to hang out and not have to make dinner though, I really like his mom. Whoda thunk??

We watched Star Trek this weekend. Sunday matinees rock! Anyway, it was pretty good, better then I was expecting. I don't know much about Star Trek, so it wasn't as enjoyable as it might have been if I knew all the characters well, etc. I want to see the new Terminator this weekend, but we need to stop SPENDING!!

The weather has been CRAP lately. RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN. Finally this week we have had like 3 days in a row without it, its AMAZING. I swear, last year we were begging for it and now we are like GO AWAY! So many HUGE trees are falling down everywhere because the ground is so wet it just wont hold the roots when the wind blows hard. I think we are finally drying out tho. Now it just need to get HOT. I swear, we should be at the lake with the sea doo by now!! Not that we have it tagged and reg in our name yet, lol. Lee also needs to find his marine license. I have only been able to lay out ONCE so far. So not cool.

Okay 30 more mins, yeahhh. Lets see, can't think of anything else really, hopefully next time I write we will have our finances reined back in and not bolting off insanely. -_-

ps okay, have no idea why my new signature thing looks so crappy, but i dont feel like messing with it, ill check it later

I'm Alive!

Sorry, just haven't felt like sitting down and writing about my life lately. Its been pretty boring, so that doesn't help either, lol.

So anyway, I guess I should tell how the backpacking trip went. It was fun, it was hard, hot, LONG, disappointing, unexpected, HEAVY, and well, still fun. Warning, this is gonna get long!!

So we got up that morning and I was really excited, been looking forward to it for a month almost! And when you plan something a long ways ahead you just get really worked up about it! We had packed most of what we had the night before, and that didn't go real well. Lees bag I got him off ebay was just not big enough. So he tried and tried to stuff it all in, but it was so uncomfortable when he got it on that it started cutting off the circulation in his arms! SOO, I felt really bad that I bought him such a crappy backpack, and that didn't put me in a good mood, and Lee kept saying it wasn't my fault butttt....so then he pulled out the old boy scout pack of my brothers and packed it. It was much better. So after that we just decided to go to bed because we were both getting annoyed, etc.

So we got up the next morning, got the rest packed, and were in much better moods, lol. Then we drove over to the brothers and we all started talking about how heavy our bags were, etc, haha, and getting the scale out to weigh them. Mine and Jamies were about 30 lbs, the boys 40. UGH! And we felt every bit of those pounds later that day, lol. What a bunch of goobers!! --->

Anyway we loaded up and got outta there. We stopped at a wal mart on the way to get a few things we forgot, then got to the place about 11? It was a very pretty day, you could tell it was going to get hot pretty quick though.

We unloaded and got our packs on and struck a trail! We were planning on hiking maybe 3 miles and then making camp that afternoon sometime. That was the PLAN. ;)

To begin with I was miserable, I think most all of us were. Just all that weight on our backs was ridiculously hard to get used to. I was dragging, I could barely keep up with who was in front of me. It was HARD. And the trail was not flat either, lol. So we would walk a bit, stop and rest, walk, rest, lol, all the while laughing at our selves and thinking, how are we going to get anywhere like this! lol

So a few hours later we decided to stop and rest at this clearing, and the boys went up over a hill to see if they could find the water. That was supposed to be all over the trail we were on. So much so that I was almost going to bring water shoes with me.

Well Jamie and I sat there just happy to have those devil spawned packs off, trying to keep bugs and TICKS off of us. Yes, the woods were INFESTED with them, it was so weird. They were itty bitty, but ugh, so grossss, besides that they carry diseases. I never really found any on me, but Jamie and the rest brushed a ton off. And my bro got a few in him, and Lee and Jamie too. I never found one embedded until the next day when we got to my parents house and took a shower late that day.

So the boys came back, didn't find any water, and we decided to eat lunch there. A few people had walked by on the trail while we were sitting there, also looking for water. One guy was speed walking it with 3 large dogs, really needing to find water for them. After lunch we met up with them again, tho not the guy with the dogs, he had gone on a head. They all said they were going down a certain trail, where there was supposed to be water about 3 more miles on. Well my bro decided after looking at the map, to go on a diff trail. Well Lee and I were both thinking, I think we should follow the others, not go on some unknown trail to who knows where. Well, we didn't. -_- And ended up walking another 4 hours. Yeah, you heard me right. With 30+ lbs on our backs. My shoulders felt WOUNDED and raw, and my calves were burning and I was covered in sweat, but I was still trucking along, and I wasn't complaining, I was just trying to get to the WATER. A few hours later we stopped again to look at the map, and then the boy decided to drop their packs and head off by themselves to look for water again. They were gone FOREVER. I was seriously getting worried, thinking of all the bad things that could have happened. I couldn't get any response from the phone Lee had, and neither could Jamie, no service.

But finally they came back, and they said the words we were SO not wanting to hear. They had found NO WATER. Now you might be wondering why we wanted to find it so bad. Well we didn't have much drinking water left from what we had brought originally, and its hard to cook without it, etc. PLUS we were so hot and icky we just wanted to bathe in it, lol.

So the boys sat down and we were so depressed. We were were either going to have to just go off into the woods and find a camp and stay (it was going to be dark in a few more hours) or keep walking, or go back. Well we sure as HECK didn't want to walk all the way back, and I didn't think we should just tramp off into the woods and just camp. So I heard them say something about a bridge up ahead that was at a trail head. I said well we might as well head for that, there has to be water around a bridge, right?? So we all got ourselves up and on up the trail again. A few hours before this I had found my stride and was doing some good time. I had figured out if I walked with a longer quicker stride everything was easier, although my toes and feet were hurting and my shoulders were sooo sore and raw and my HIPS where a lot of my weight from my pack was sitting, were like UGH. They were bruised for a few days, I couldn't tighten my belt all the way.

So Lee and I were leaving the bro and Jamie behind, but I didn't care, I was just focused on finding the WATER. We stopped a bit every once and a while to let them catch up and then on we went again. Lee kept saying how proud he was of me, and how he was just so happy about how well I was doing and just so PROUD, lol. That helped a lot, he was so sweet.

And then, we HEARD IT. WATERRRR!!! It was like a waterfall or something off the trail somewhere, and we all got so excited! And relieved. So we started going downhill pretty good and then we started seeing a creek through the woods and then FINALLY. We got to the bottom, and saw the bridge, and the trail head, and WATER! There was a big creek and a pool, and it was beautiful. So the boys went over to the other bank to look for a camp spot, and we got our evil bags off and waited, they said they found a good one, so we handed the packs to them and they took them to the campsite. That water was COLD too. Like the cold that HURTS when you get out. But it was so nice to see it! Lol, so we got over there and started to set up camp. I went and washed my face and neck and arms, etc, as soon as I could. Thank God I had brought a wash cloth, lol. There was a younger guy and two girls there, that were swimming in the pool of water right behind our camp. At first I was like, greattt, but then we got a good idea. Maybe we should ask him if he could drive us back to our truck so we don't have to hike back tomorrow. Well the bro did just that and thank God he said he would. They were gone SO long though, they both didn't really know where they were going, so that didn't help. But he finally got back. During that time we got camp set up, a fire going, and Lee had cooked us all our canned soup dinners. Jamie and I just layed in mine and Lees tent on the blow up mattresses and rested. I about fell asleep three times, lol. We were planning on playing Uno that night but we were so tired we just went to bed, lol.

Well that night was interesting! The frogs in the creek were SO LOUD but that didn't really bother me, they were like that at my moms and dads, but there was owls (so eerie!!) and then some other strange, LOUD animal, and it was cold too. My sleeping bag was supposed to be for 30 degree weather. YEAH RIGHT! Lee had only a fleece one, poor guy, so I finally rolled into the crack between the two mattresses and tried to cover him up with my bag and get close to him, that was much better.

So needless to say we didn't get a lot of sleep, the bro and sis in law even less since they didn't have blow up mattresses, hehe. So Lee got up pretty early and went looking for firewood and I got up and got dressed soon after. Of course going to the bathroom first! So much fun in the middle of nowhere, ugh. But I had less of a prob with it then Jamie she went like TWICE the whole trip, shes crazy. I was like, just GO, its not THAT big of a deal. Geesh.

So we had boiled some water the night before to fill our bottles with again, and it was COLD by that morning. I filled up about 3 with it, then went and got some more water for hot chocolate. I got that on to boil and went to try some fishing. No luck! By then the water was ready and I made some hot choco for me and Lee and then FINALLY the sleepy heads got up and I made some for them too. Then it was time to get breakfast going! We got the instant pancake stuff where you just add water and shake it for a few mins and whala! So I got the mess kit and Jamie would spray it with cook spray each time and pour the batter, and I would cook it over the little propane stove. Went pretty fast. After that we packed up camp and went back to the truck. The bro and sis in law were ready to GO, I wasn't really, I wanted to find some waterfalls, and I think Lee did too but his feet were SO blistered up, he was done. So we stayed at the camp to take a picture together. Then on up to the truck. We got back into town and decided we needed to go to the steakhouse. That was the BEST STEAK EVER. Then we decided to head back to mom and dads to see if we could take the boat out. At that time the bro decided he wanted to ride Cisco too, so we did that, and then I convinced daddy (they were in AZ at the time) to let us take the boat out. That was FUN. We fished a bit, again not catching anything, and then went on to the movie store and picked up some papa johns and back to mom and dads again. Took some showers and then ate and watched Bolt on dads HUGE projection screen movie theater in the basement.

So, in all it was a good weekend, although we hiked EIGHT miles instead of three, lol. Would I do it again? Oh yeah, but I think I'd like giong with just Lee and I a bit better :) Thats what we are planning on for our next outing. I've got to LIGHTEN MY LOAD though, that was miserable. I want to enjoy myself a bit more, lol. And we will DEF not be going on that sme trail, geesh. We all kept saying, next time we are finding the water first and following it! lol

So I'll shut up now, this is def long enough! Ta ta...
